Meet Arthur, My Big Brave Friend!

Hello Teddy Friends,

Happy Teddy Tales Tuesday, everyone!

Today is a very, very special day because I get to introduce you to the first BIG bear who ever came to live with us in My Miniature World. Everybody, please say a big hello to Arthur! 

Mummy and I met Arthur way back in September 2022, when we went on a grand adventure across the sea to the International Dollhouse & Miniatures Show at Expo Houten in Utrecht! Oh my goodness, there was a whole special teddy section with hundreds and hundreds of perfect bears everywhere. My little eyes didn't know where to look! But then, we saw him.

Arthur is a very big boy. He is 35cm tall (that is huge compared to me!) and he is 5-way jointed. He was hand-stitched by the wonderful artist named Anjo Noija of Bearable Bears. He is incredibly special because he isn't made of normal fur. he is crafted from beautiful old linen, filled with traditional wood wool, and he has two old boot button eyes that look at you with so much love. He even wears a beautiful antique metal bead hanging around his neck!

But when we first met him, Arthur was sitting very quietly. He told me later that his little stuffing heart was beating so fast because he was scared. He looked around at all the shiny, fluffy bears and thought, "Oh dear, no one is ever going to choose me. I look too suffered up and broken with my old linen and my bandage." He was afraid he wouldn't be loved. Can you believe that? 

But Posy to the rescue! Being the lead adventurer (and a very good comforter), I climbed right up and gave him the biggest hug my tiny arms could manage. I looked into his bright boot-button eyes and reassured him. I told him: "Arthur, don't you worry! You aren't broken, you are beautiful. And guess what? Out of all the hundreds of bears in this big room, Mummy chose YOU! She fell in love with your sweet booboos the very second she saw you."

As soon as I said that, his worry melted right away. Mummy adopted him right then and there, and now he lives happily in her bedroom with other big teddies. On his right arm, the sweetheart wears a little white bandage to cover his boo-boo, and he wears it like a badge of honour because he knows he is entirely cherished.

I absolutely adore him, and he is the most handsome big brother to all the friends in our miniature world.
